Who's racist again?
The headline of the Reuters article is innocuous…
Mexico’s Fox Toughens Talk on U. S. Immigration Law
The opening sentence reveals some hefty racist views, though:
Mexican President Vicente Fox called recent U.S. measures to stem illegal immigration a step back for bilateral relations on Friday and said Mexican migrants do jobs “that not even blacks want to do.”
Huh?
“There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States,” he said in a speech broadcast in part on local radio and reported on newspaper web sites.
Wow. And I’m told that it’s the gringos that are bad.
I’ll just sit quietly over here and wait on the black luminaries to express outrage over that comment. Wake me when it happens…
(Thanks to Joe Gandelman, guest posting on Dean’s World)
Fox makes me want to *spit*!
Still listening for that NAACP outrage…..
*crickets*
Fox is a disgusting pig. Wish Pancho Villa would come back from the dead and swallow him up!!
stop quoting black people we have more education then and mexican could every what in this life time the white man and the mexican what to be black but donot no how of course the mexican will work for five dollars and hour because they are use to it so don’t put the black down because our time is going to come see we don’t have to lie or fraud and still the white mans identy because we were born here in california and another thing the white man is to busy kissing the mexican brown ass to get his job done because the black man is not dum to stup that low it’s time the black people speak out like martin luther king said he had a dream but it was not finish that where we come in to finish what he started for our black children.
OK. I’m having a hard time with this comment… but here goes:
1. I wasn’t quoting “black people.” The quotes above are attributed to former Mexican President Vicente Fox, who said that illegal immigrants coming from Mexico to the US were doing jobs that “not even blacks want to do,” which to me said that he believed blacks are somehow less than caucasians. I patiently waited (18 months+ and counting, as of this writing) for black leadership in the US to take offense to that comment. They haven’t, yet. Probably won’t. And it’s a shame that Mexican leadership thinks of black America that way, because they aren’t.
2. I didn’t put the black man down, nor will you ever find any instance where I do. That’s not how I think, act, or live.
3. I don’t know that the white man and the mexican want to be black, though that’s not the issue at hand.
4. I don’t know of any black man (or woman) who wants to lie, fraud, or steal the white man’s identity.
5. I do believe Mexico’s ass is being kissed right now. The reasons aren’t clear.
6. I agree, the black man is not dumb.
