Reunion
16 days and counting to my 20th HS reunion. I’m scared, I don’t mind telling you.
I mean, it’s exciting and all, because there’s people I haven’t seen in 20 years — which is everyone but about 3, and those 3 I haven’t seen in 16 years. Almost literally, I’ve seen no one I went to HS with since moving to VA.
But yeah, I’m scared because I’m a bit of an idiot, and agreed to actually get up in front of these people and speak for a few minutes. Never mind that behind spiders and just ahead of high places, that’s probably my biggest fear. No, I was sweet-talked into it. To make matters worse, I’m s’posed to relay a funny story. Because, you know, I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast 7 days ago. I think I’m living proof that alcohol kills brain cells.
Other than that, I’m totally down with the social visit. It gives me a chance to see my parents and my sisters, who I’ve not seen in 3 years; I’ve got a couple of extra days to spare in there as well for some of my old bestest friends who might get there early (Hey, Kelly!) and maybe a bit of time to do some exploring with my camera.
You know the Lounge will demand pictures, right?
In this case, we may need video.
*snort* as if I’m telling the Lounge. :p
You’ll do fine! We’ll throw some more alcohol your way (you know, because you Navy boys are so good at holding your drinks… HAHAHAHAHAHA)… srlsy… you’ll do just fine!
