I’ve always wanted to try the “100 things about me” post that you see on lots of blogs, but I could never find 100 interesting things. What the hell, though, let’s try:
- My real name is out there for all to see.
- I don’t know how smart that actually is.
- My last name doesn’t actually have an”s” in it.
- Obviously, yarbrough.org was taken.
Also, .com and .net… - I was born in Memphis, TN.
- When people ask where I’m from, I say “Originally, Memphis.”
- I’m actually from a town called Toone, TN. Population of 350 or so.
- I’m 37.
- I have 2 younger sisters.
- I share a birthday with my youngest sister.
- Our other sister, the middle one, has her birthday 9 days before us.
- I’m married, happily. She’s referred to as either “Wifey” or “La Angela” on this site.
- I have 3 kids, happily — two teens (referred to as Eldest and Boy) and a toddler (Baby Emma).
- The oldest teen shares a birthday with her late great-grandmother.
- I have lived in 4 states.
- I have visited about 20 states.
- I have visited about 25 countries, on 5 continents.
- Canada isn’t one of them. And England only counts if you count airports.
- I love my toys, almost as much as my family. Almost.
- My toys include computers, and games.
- I have an XBox 360, a Gamecube, a Playstation 2, a Dreamcast, a Nintendo Entertainment System, and a Colecovision.
- My goal is to own them all. Unattainable, but fun to try.
- Current favorite games: The entire Guitar Hero series (PS2/XBox 360).
- The last game I beat was Halo 3 (Xbox 360).
- I tinker with this site a lot. It rarely brings about visual changes, but it does teach me, especially when I break things.
- My sisters and I starred in a television commercial once, when I was 9.
- It was for a pick-your-own peach orchard.
- It aired all of once, that I recall.
- I’m closer to my sisters now that I’m farther away from them.
- I have taken 6293 pictures with my digital camera as of the time I wrote this (8:39PM PDT 25 September 2006).
- I’ve kept most of them, spread out over 10 CDs.
- I don’t upload most of them, even though I have a flickr site.
- I smoked cigarettes for 12 years before quitting the first time.
- I’ve quit 5 times in the last 6 years.
- I still enjoy a cigar every now and then.
- I have an “addictive personality”. This is entirely self-diagnosed.
- I am obsessive about things I enjoy — like Mountain Dew, chocolate, and games.
- I still can’t quit Mountain Dew.
- I am somewhat overweight, though not terribly so.
- I weighed 175 when I graduated high school.
- I love listening to my wife sing. Doesn’t matter what occasion.
- Sometimes I don’t have enough patience. Rarely, in fact.
- I have been on the internet since 1997.
- I have been “online” since 1991.
- I have been using computers since 1983.
- I used to be excellent with phone numbers.
- When I was younger I collected license plates.
- My favorite movies of all time are the original Star Wars trilogy.
- The last 3 “commercial” VHS tapes I own are of that trilogy in the theatrical release.
- Since getting the original trilogy on DVD for Christmas, I can now finally get rid of them.
- I don’t have a VCR in my current A/V setup.
- I have 8 DVD players in my home.
- Growing up, I was the only one in my house that couldn’t sing or play a musical instrument.
- Today, I’m the only one in the house who can’t sing or play a musical instrument.
- All that aside, I know more music, and I know more ABOUT music, than anyone in the house.
- I listen to almost any kind of music, though I don’t listen to much country music or hardcore rap.
- My favorite artists of the moment are Ben Folds, Beck, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
- My current “All-time” favorite list includes Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin.
- I love this blog, even though I don’t write terribly often.
- I have a readership of less than 10. Literally, I think.
- Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re one of the last to read it.
- This list has taken me over 3 months to write so far.
- I dislike most reality shows with a passion…
- But I watch professional wrestling (WWE) often.
- Other than that, The Sopranos is/was the only thing I try to watch on TV.
- I am a packrat.
- I married a packrat.
- We hold garage sales when we can’t walk through the garage anymore.
- I wear a size 13 shoe.
- The above in no way implies anything other than my shoe size.
- Right this minute, I’m reading re-reading the Wheel of Time series.
- My favorite food is Meat-loaf sandwiches, followed closely by lasagna.
- I am scared of high places.
- The older I get, the less scared I am.
- You still won’t catch me on thrill rides very often.
- We have 2 cats.
- I am allergic.
- I take 2 meds to keep the cats in the house.
- Our last house didn’t allow pets.
- We had the cats there anyway.
- We weren’t the only ones in our community to do that.
- At this point I’m scanning other “100 things” lists to look for things to talk about.
- I’ve met celebrities: Gary Sinise, Josh Blue, John Heffron, Taylor Hicks, Michael Reagan, Chris Gray, Bill Goldberg, Bill Engvall, Gary Brightwell. I’ve blogged about most of them.
- I’ve only had 1 broken bone in my life. I’ve blogged it.

- I am not terribly talkative in social situations.
- I’m not aloof, just scared to death.
- I have eaten snails.
- You can tell how far I’ve had to reach to find a hundred things.
