I’m waiting to see if I can reach 200 comment spams today. I’m at 182, with 2 and a half hours left to midnight… at the rate it’s progressing, it should happen within an hour.
What? You’re not seeing ANY of them? :p
It’s still annoying to get 200 emails in a day, with nothing to say but “Hey, we stopped the spam, no poker ads here BEYOTCH!”
Update: Happened at 10:27 PM. Still none making it to the blog. Idiots.
Update 2: Final tally, 239. There have been two types pouring in…
* One all WP users should recognize as the byob@y(number)o.com guy advertising poker, or cialis, or consolidation loans. This lamer sends emails about every half-hour, with breaks here and there. He hit me 16 times yesterday, stopping around noon-ish.
* The other guy showed up 2-3 days ago, and is pretty nasty. The email address is (5 to 8 random letters)@(around 33 random alphanumeric characters).com, always talking about “online—–poker.” 7 links in the message. 223 hits yesterday, attempting to hit each entry on this blog in numberical order. It also hit me 54 times after midnight (stopping around 2am), making sure It got each and every entry on my blog.
Thanks to Kitten’s Spaminator, you didn’t see a single one of these, nor any other of the 907 total spam hits I’ve gotten since about 2AM on December 10th.
There’s other things I want to try to stop the spammers from getting through at all, but I’m not in the mood to fix things if they break (and renaming files will cause me to run that risk). In the meantime, I’m willing to suffer through the emails.

I feel for you sweetie…just wait ’til the Rolex guy gets to you. Methinks I should have them covering both arms and up to my shoulders by about now. Sheesh!!!
