Schiavo must die

Pretty poor wording for a headline, eh?

I’ve reversed my opinion on Schiavo. It’s NUANCED. </johnf’nkerry>

It’s been pretty pathetic all around, really. As much as I would like to see Schiavo live, (a) it’s been 11 days now… reinserting the tube now is gonna be pretty cruel to EVERYONE, especially if it has to be re-removed later. And I wonder what permanent physical damage she’s suffered as a result of this anyway. (b) I’m not impressed that Congress got involved, if I didn’t make that clear in my last post. An Emergency session, no less, to change the jurisdiction in this one case. And it was started and mainly supported by the congressional conservatives, in whom I’ve lost a little faith, as legislation like this is what they are supposed to stand AGAINST. Side note: I don’t blame the President; after Congress convened, it would have been political suicide NOT to sign the bill.

Oh, and just FYI: Jesse Jackson, last seen talking race cards with “black luminary” Michael Jackson, is NOW pushing to get the tube reinserted. Talk about a token gesture.
