San Diego fires, Thursday update

Real quick, ’cause it’s late and I’m tired:

The networks are sick of the coverage, we’re back in “normal” mode on TV.

Qualcomm’s closing at Noon tomorrow as far as evac shelters go. They say the population’s dwindling. Not surprised. If they didn’t close it, the homeless would migrate there and it’d be 2 years before everyone left. Side note: The Chargers will play here, though it’s still up in the air whether the game will be postponed til Monday.

Work is pretty much business as usual, with the exception of those still dealing with fires threatening homes. We did have 3 guys from the office volunteer as firefighters for a couple of days. Thought that was nice.

The fires are all still going, though there’s been some containment. A couple of the big ones aren’t expected to be contained for another week, and controlled for a week beyond this.

It’s not over yet, though I think unless there’s a major development I’m going to stop blogging it. The news does a much better job, and I’m pretty sure we’re completely out of danger. I’m going to unpack tomorrow after work, and all will be right with our world again.
