All crazy stupid snark aside, I don’t think I could notice a TV writer’s strike, ever.
What I generally notice on my TV — not that I necessarily watch, but from time to time I can be caught looking in the general direction of the TV — is as follows:
- Dancing with the Stars
- American Idol
- America’s Got Talent
- Project Runway
- America’s Next Top Model
- I’ve even seen an episode of Kid Nation, and one of Survivor
- Rock Star (whatever band they’re working on here). [Side note: Supernova never went far, did they? At least the rejuvenated INXS got one album out]
- You’re the One That I Want (the show where they cast the leads in Grease).
- Nearly any Food Network show
- WWE Monday Night Raw
Of them all, the Pro Wrestling is the most heavily written. Sad, ain’t it? These shows aren’t generally receiving rave reviews for the deep scripting, are they?
Of them all, I somehow gravitate toward Project Runway. I don’t know why, but I keep coming up with names for the… personalities… that are vying to win the competition. Fake Plastic Barbie Boy, in one season. Punk Rock designer. This year there’s a Fruity Trucker. Plus the music that plays when they get to the elimination phase just kills me. It’s awesome.
If I can ever find compelling fiction on TV again, I’ll put down the DVDs and video games and actually enjoy it. I’m afraid I’m turning into one of those people who doesn’t watch TV. They’re obnoxious. Not quite as bad as the ones who don’t OWN a TV (and will take every opportunity to tell you this) but still pretty bad.

Supernova did release an album but it tanked in the US, it went platinum in Canada but hey….
I love Project Runway too and now we got our own version in Canada, I find the design talent this first season is not up to par with the American but Iman, who hosts PRC, kicks butt, she doesn’t hold back
Iman is SO awesome.
