Sons of Albion

The second myspace page I ever bookmarked (and to this day, there have only been two):

Sons of Albion

I’ve never really outgrown my love of Led Zeppelin; sometimes it hibernates, but it’s never really gone away.  I have 1 CD in my truck, filled with MP3 versions of all Zeppelin studio albums.  I have a playlist on my iPod dedicated to everything Zeppelin, including Plant’s solo albums, The two Page/Plant albums, the Zeppelin tributes (bluegrass AND rock).  I bought The Song Remains the Same on VHS, a year before I had a VCR to watch it on.  (SUBTLE HINT FOR YA’LL, THE DVD IS ON MY AMAZON WISH LIST!)  The only poster ever to hang in my room as a teenager was one of the band, from 1971.  I deeply regretted reading about Robert Plant touring my hometown of Jackson, TN the day after he was there.  He ate at a Po’ Folks restaurant that day; the restaurant has since been torn down.

But I’m off track.  I linked you to the Sons of Albion.  I honestly don’t know if they still exist as a band , but the frontman is Logan Plant, Robert’s second (and only living) son.  There is a LOT of Dad’s influence on the vocal stylings; reminiscent of the times in Zeppelin.  Logan hasn’t hit the high notes Robert is famous for, maybe he can.

The two songs you can hear on the myspace page are the only ones I know exist.  Both songs are also available for purchase as “iTunes Plus” tracks for 99 cents.

Logan is very low key; I haven’t seen anything much about him.  Neither he nor his band have a Wikipedia page. Robert Plant’s page doesn’t mention family.  Logan doesn’t have a myspace, just his band.  I think he, like Jakob Dylan before him, is trying to make it on his own, without being known as his father’s kid — a contrast to fellow Zeppelin child Jason Bohnam, who is actually playing with the reunited surviving Zeppelin members.

Logan is Robert’s second and oldest living son. He has another son.
