Christine, former webmistress turned internet success story turned photographer extraordinaire, defined blurking in 2003. The word blurking is a mix of the words blog and lurk, and applies to those who do just that.
Today… nay, the remainder of the week has been declared an “international playday” whereupon all blurkers are charged with commenting on the blogs they read. She started with mine, and I’ve returned the favor… probably the first words we’ve said on each other’s sites in a bit over 2 years. I’m going to make it a point this weekend to drop comments on every blog I read. Of course, I encourage both of my faithful readers to do the same.
